What a brilliant idea having a fish shop on Roe Street! This shop sells fish, shellfish, poultry and game and is widely regarded in the area. It has a good selection of smoked fish (including undyed smokes haddock). I bought some nice mackerel, which the helpful and friendly staff cleaned and filleted for me. They sell monkfish cheeks, which are cheaper (and many think better) than monkfish tails.According to the Guardian the shop has a policy of only buying large fish such as line-caught Canadian pacific halibut and Cornish silver hake, in order to avoid depleting fish supplies.
If you're entertaining you can buy ready prepared frozen dishes like Coquille St. Jacques.
