Tanners Wine Merchants is an independent family company, established in 1842. Parts of their premises date back from the 1480's. The company, whilst retaining fine old fashioned values, has also moved with the times and sells wines over the Internet.
They also have branches in Bridgnorth, Hereford and Welshpool.My first thought, walking through the large shop, was this place will be expensive! However I was delighted to find a bottle for under a £1 (o.k. it was a 25cl bottle in the sale)!
I felt prices compared favourably with even the supermarkets and the company has a policy of getting great wines from small places.
