Sandbach Farmers' Market

Cheshire now has another good Farmers' Market, on the second Saturday in every month in Sandbach.
It's on the square, by the Saxon Crosses, and was opened by the town crier.

I regularly shop at Nantwich Farmers' Market and other markets in the area, so wasn't expecting to see many new/different stalls.  However I was surprised how many there were who I didn't know.  There was beef from Happy Beef in Crowton and Holford Farm in Brownlow, and Cheadle Farm, Nether Peover
This stand had some nice looking cup cakes:
and I've bean meaning to do a feature on Hubbardy's as I used to work with Jane before she turned a hobby of making lovely cakes into a career:
They're in Sandbach Market every Saturday, but decided to migrate over to the new Farmers' Market this Saturday to help get it going.
David Williams make award winning cheese, just down the road at Crewe Hall.

There was a lady selling pickles and preserves, including a cinnamon marmalade and a Sandbach relish:
She also sold "Dalmation Radish", ""Frog in a blender", and "Goldfish in a Septic Tank" (click on the picture for a better view to find out why they got their names)!

Buttertons Big Brown Cow Ice Cream:
make ice-cream from the milk of the herd of the Buttertons pedigree Brown Swiss cows.   I tried their vanilla, but they also do many different flavours including Horlicks!
