The Whitby Catch

The fishing fleet at Whitby ranges from large white fish trawlers to smaller day-fishing shellfish vessels.
There's a fish quay in the lower harbour and there's a fish market where auctions take place.

The Whitby Catch is just over the road from the Whitby fish market, you can't get fresher fish than that!

They have over 120 different fish products available daily.

I had a dressed crab and some smoked salmon from here today. Absolutely fantastic, what quality seafood is all about; which is more than can be said for the "legendary" Magpie Cafe whose offering was distinctly average (undercooked chips and uninspiring batter). I understand the Magpie group has now taken over the Whitby Catch. Let's hope they don't break it.
