I start my blog of Sandbach with a picture of the Saxon Crosses for anyone interested in history and Godfrey Williams delicatessen for everyone interested in food. I didn't intend to promote supermarkets in this blog, but Sandbach has a nice Waitrose. An indoor and outdoor market is operated every Thursday and Saturday on The Commons and in the adjacent Market Hall.
Godfrey Williams is one of the best delicatessens I know.
It's not cheap, but has an excellent range of cheeses (including their own), cold meats, a very wide range of bottles and jars of sauces etc. and sweets
Choc A Doodle Doo sells Belgian chocolates as well as traditional and novelty sweets.
I was brought up in a place where greengrocers displayed their goods outside the shop. Centre fruits are in a pedestrian precinct so are not affected by traffic pollution.
Demeter Wholefoods is an excellent shop. It sells pulses, dried fruits, Fairtrade and organic juices, coffee, groceries and has a massively varied herbs and spices section. Items like plump organic raisins are on display for you to try before you buy.
They used to have a web site http://www.allaboutginger.co.uk but seem to have abandoned it, but still sell a range of different foods with ginger.
They used to have a stall in Nantwich market, but sine writing this it's closed.
I didn't visit Good Taste Cake Design and would have liked to tried an ice cream at Quadrellis so would be interested to hear reports of either.
