Silsden is the place where Gordon Ramsay filmed his first ever "Kitchen Nightmares" programme, but the reason why I'm including it today is it's where my mum's butcher is.My mum knows a bit about meat (her dad was a butcher) and her butcher is excellent. Bradley's Butchers is one of the town's longest-established businesses, dating back 70 years. Philip Bradley followed his father and grandfather into the business on Bradley Road (named after them I wonder?). You may even see the shop on the television series The Royal.
The meat is always top quality. You can select your own joint or chop and specify how thick you want it. I especially recommend the bacon chops.

A few yards away is the Peartree Deli, who specialise in mainly British foods supplied locally where possible. They make their own selection of cakes, quiches and soups and deliver sandwiches and salad boxes in Silsden and the surrounding area.
Since writing this Peartree Deli has closed.
