Keswick apparently gets its name from Cese-wic, meaning a market for cheese. It's still a busy market town in the Lake District, just north of Derwent Water.
Brysons is a family owned bakery, which has been hand baking bread from locally milled flour on the same site for 60 years. They sell local specialities including Lakeland Plum Bread, Borrowdale Tea Bread and Cumbrian Fruit Cake. Confusingly (but we are in Britain) the plum bread does not contain plums, but is a lightly spiced fruit bread made with currants, raisins and sultanas:Brysons of Keswick
