Central Forest Park used to be a mine, known as 'Hanley Deep Pit'. Now the slag-heaps have been converted into attractive green hills and there's also a lake.
A lovely green space which is close to the centre of Hanley, I'm not quite sure why the council thought it needed a 21 foot tall metal tree adding as part of a £350,000 improvement?
If you ever go there for a walk or a jog, you're bound to get an appetite so why not get an oatcake?
There's normally a bit of friendly banter in these shops, and this one was no exception. Two things appeared to bother the owner:
They're sweeter than an oatcake (so I avoid them) and often have dried fruit in them.

- If ever the Sentinel ever mentions this shop, apparently they always refer to it as the "oatcake shop near Central Forest Park". If it was any closer it would be in it!
- This shop can't call it oatcakes traditional as it's only being trading for 90 years.......
