Kings Heath - Maison Mayci

Two French brothers, Remi and David, who trained at the Grenoble school of Food technology (Lesdiguières) now run a fantastic cafe in Birmingham. The council have even put a Stop sign outside - to make sure you don't miss this lovely shop:
Just looking through the window, you can tell it's a part of France that's landed in Birmingham!
They sell French bread
and croissants
terrines & confits, tartes, quiches, desserts and patisserie.
It's seriously good food, you'd have to go to France (or Le Petit Blanc in Oxford) to get French food of this quality. The patisserie is also evolving with greater emphasis on healthy ingredients.
Some shops in this blog, I would visit if I was in the area.  For this one I would make a significant detour.

I feel you missed a few tricks in your post on the place - within 50m of the French café is a Carribbean shop, also, further up is the Manic Organic Café and 'Thyme Out', the first is fairly self explanatory and the second is a health food shop. If ever you do a 'healthy Birmingham' post, I also feel the Warehouse Cafe [Friends of the Earth organic/vegetarian cafe] deserves a mention.
