For many years there was a really good shop in Ombersley called Evertons. I'd heard that Evertons no longer have the shop and went to see if the new owners had changed it.
Now called Ombersley Wines & Delicatessen, the shop was much as I remembered it. It's a long shop with fruit and vegetables and bread at the front, a long delicatessen counter and at the back there's grocery and an off licence. This stocked items from the region such as Hobson's beer and Robinson's of Tenbury cider. There was a good selection of delicatessen items including local scotch eggs made by the Hand Made Scotch Egg Company.They also sell Country Market cakes.
There's also a really good fish shop at the back Checketts Fresh Fish which belongs to T H Checketts, the butchers next door.
At the front you can also have a cup of coffee. The new owner, Nicki, tells me the shop will be even better when they finish refurbishing the delicatessen in the next two or three months. I look forward to going back
