Pershore

Pershore is famous for it's plums fine and also Pershore Abbey (pictured above). The current structure is far smaller than the original, which was damaged when the abbey was plundered during the dissolution of the abbeys.

Abbey Butchers are situated in Pershore Retail Market.

It's an attractive market, but I'm not sure if I agree with their web site which claims it is probably the best retail market in the country!

I can recommend Abbey Butcher's own Pershore sausage, which naturally contain local plums!

They also sell their home made Pershore faggots and pies. All their Beef is hung for three weeks.

In the picture you can also see their own cooked hams.

Suprisingly for a small town, Pershore has two delicatessens, Capers and Quintessence.
Capers were offering free wine tasting when I called. They sell Tipsage fruit gins. They have a good selection of cheeses including Gorsehill Abbey cheese. At Gorsehill Abbey farm their cows graze the perry pear orchards.

They also sell Just Rachel desserts and ice cream
