As you go down Fegg Hayes Road you can see what remains of the Chatterley Whitfield Colliery.
Chatterley Whitfield was the largest Colliery in North Staffordshire, and was the first Colliery to produce 1,000,000 tones of saleable coal in a year.
I remember going to an excellent mining museum there, which sadly closed in August 1991. There are plans to restore it, see the Friends of Chatterley Whitfield.
Towards the bottom of Fegg Hayes Road, on East Terrace, is
JB Oatcake Bakery.
JB Oatcake Bakery makes their own oatcakes, but only sells them to take home (not served hot with fillings)
