Robin Hood's Bay is an amazing place, which (in my view) can compete with the best of Cornwall.
If you get the chance, read a copy of "The Three Fevers" by Leo Walmsley. It's autobiographical and and is a story about the rivalry between two fishing families in this village. It was made into a film "The Turn of the Tide" which was the first feature film made by J. Arthur Rank.
Half way up (or down) the hill is Bay Fisheries. They have been in business since 1982 selling locally caught fish, crabs, langoustines and lobsters. Some of the produce they catch themselves from their small boat in Robin Hood's Bay.
