Thornton-le-Dale - Baldersons

A pretty village much featured on calendars etc. apparently Thornton-le-Dale was just plain Thornton until the railway came when the "le-Dale" was added to distinguish it from other Thorntons. We always used to stop for a cup of tea here when we were little.
There's lots of nice places to stop, I like Baldersons where you can get freshly made sandwiches and cakes like carrot cake.

However the main reason for stopping should be for one of their home made ice creams!
