Tarvin - Sheaf Farm Shop

A friend of mine, who is an authority on beef, got quite excited after a visit to Sheaf Farm Shop where he bought some of their home reared, award winning pedigree Hereford beef.
The shop opened in 2002, and has expanded due to popular demand. It's mainly meat, but they also sell pies and locally produced eggs, cheese, honey and icecream.


Whilst you're in the area you might like to walk about a mile down the road to the "Roman Bridges" at Hockenhull Platts. They were orginally timber, but rebuilt in stone around 1470. It used to be the main route from Chester to London. Hockenhull Platts is on the Baker Way (linking Chester with Delamere) and is managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. The wet meadows have a wide variety of plants and you may see sedge and reed warblers.
