Fordhall Farm

You may have to wait before you can get into Fordhall Farm shop, if the chickens are having a strut around!
I was fortunate to meet the remarkable Arthur Hollins before he died, he gave me a copy of his book "Farmer, the Plough and the Devil: Story of Fordhall Farm, Pioneer of Organic Farming". His children, Charlotte and Ben, started the Fordhall Community Land Initiative and now Fordhall Farm is the first community owned farm in England. The farm was saved from development in 2006 when over 8,000 people purchased non-profit making shares. The farm has been chemical free for over 65 years and rears its own outdoor beef, lamb and pork which are now sold in the farm shop and online. The farm even has it's own blog:
