Dickinson & Morris has been baking pork pies at Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe in Melton Mowbray since 1851. They also have the dual acclaim of being the oldest pork pie bakery and the last remaining producer of authentic Melton Mowbray pork pies based in the town centre.
As from yesterday, the Melton Mowbray pork pie is registered as a protected product by receiving the protected geographical status (PGI) by the European Commission and takes it's special place alongside champagne and Parma ham!
