The picture at the top of this post is the Ancient High House in Stafford, which is the largest remaining timber framed town house in England. I've always found Staffordshire people very friendly, and Stafford is well worth a visit for good food. If your visiting Stafford try to visit on the second Saturday in the month (so there's one tomorrow) when there's a Farmers' Market in the Market Square:I liked the stall below, where everything was a superalative: very short shortbread, very oatty (sic) biscuits, very hot ginger biscuits, very lovely local butter fruit crumbles.
