Ruthin - Leonardo's Delicatessen

Just by the Old Court House in Ruthin (built in 1401, now a branch of the NatWest Bank), and next door to Siop Nain (where the first copies of the Welsh national anthem, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, were printed) is Leonardo's Delicatessen:
Run by masterchef Andreas Brunzel and his wife Ceris, Leonardo's Delicatessen is quite a find.  Here's the place to buy a Ruthin Honeybun:
- resurrected from a lost 16th Century recipe and much more besides.  There's hand made breads, - Andreas's does a delicious fragrant Italian bread, or a wholemeal bread stuffed with whole black olives.
They sell Snowdonia cheeses in wax truckles, try (Red Devil) Red Leicester truckle with chillies & peppers in red wax or Ginger Spice (extra mature cheddar cheese truckle with chunks of stem ginger).
They've won awards for their Steak and Red Wine pie (as recommended by Helen Lederer) and they also do Welsh Oggies (with lamb and mint) and I can recommend their Mediterranean vegetable quiche.
