The drive from Bewdley to Ludlow along the A4117 in South Shropshire is one of my favourites. The highest point is Clee Hill, on a fine day there are great views to the south of the Malvern Hills. It's good for wildlife. Wheatears are common, the bird get its name not from corn but its white hind quarters. Hoopoes and the rare Woodchat Shrike have also been spotted nearby.
However if it's foggy the views aren't so good:
The Kremlin in Clee Hill village is one of the highest pubs in England. It gets its name from the days when the jukebox used to pick up Radio Moscow!
