Magnalonga

Regular readers of this blog will know that we've done (and thoroughly enjoyed) every Cleobury Food and Ale Trail. So this year we thought we'd also go 12 miles west and try Ludlow's Magnalonga to see how it compares.....
The start was at the Millennium Green in Ludlow, where we issued with crisps, water and directions. We then went over the bridge over the River Teme, looking back at Ludlow castle:
and over Whitcliffe Common. The first stop was at Priors Halton:
where we were issued with a cherry tomato quiche from Ludlow Food Centre and Butford Organic Cider's Andromeda cider.
At each stop musical entertainment was provided.
We then carried on through the Earl of Plymouth's estate,
to Ludlow Food Centre:
where we were given a sausage and leek hash prepared by Ian and Elaine Fuller, of Capers:
Magnalonga Perry from Oliver's Cider & Perry.
We then raced (?) past Ludlow racecourse:
to Felton Farm, which was organised and staffed by Local to Ludlow.

Here we had Chocolate Pots prepared by Sweet Stuff Slow, washed down "The Boiling Well Beer" brewed by the Ludlow Brewing Company:
The fourth stop was at Elm Lodge:
where we had a Ludlow Blue cheese, an Oakly Park Cheddar and a "cheese with no name" - all hand made by Dudley Martin of the Ludlow Food centre. To go with the cheese was cider from one of my favourite producers Ralph's - anything made at Old Badland (Ralph's home in New Radnor) you know is going to be good.
We then went back to Ludlow for some delicious Sloe Gin from Monkhide Country Wines.
I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved with this event, which we enjoyed immensely.
