I was glad I made my way out of the centre of Leicester to Clarendon Park to find Salvador Deli (another great name for a deli). It's a café and delicatessen with some unusual cheeses (including Stinking Bishop) and meats like Serrano ham.
Someone in Leicester had recommended I try their bread, helpfully adding that they kept quite well. We had a tomato and herb loaf, but it was gone within a day!
They also have an interesting selection of tarts like chorizo and courgette or red pepper and parmesan. I especially liked this Mediterranean vegetable dish:
