Box Lane Oatcakes

Box Lane Oatcakes has been in existence since 1937 and is situated in the quaint building at the top of this post. It's opposite Longton High School:
which will be shut down this year. I thought it was great that an oatcake shop should be next to a school - I feel that having a good breakfast (rather than swigging coke at 10:30am) helps children to learn better.

I've been to this shop twice before and always found it closed. That's because it closes at 9:00am and I got there too late! It's open 6 days a week, the owner starts work at 1:00 am (and if you're about at that time he will sell you an oatcake). They're some of the best Staffordshire oatcakes I've had.
