I really like Chesterfield Market. It's even got it's own market horse! In fact I learnt from Save Sam the Chesterfield Market Horse, on Facebook, that there's two market horses.
So is this Sam or Ben? Chesterfield Market is well represented on Facebook, there's also That man in Chesterfield market who sells fruit and shouts really loudly!
There's more than 250 stalls in the market which takes place every Monday, Friday and Saturday. On the second Thursday of each month there's also a Farmers' Market.
The market hall was built in 1857 and refurbished in the 1970's. There's all the usual stores (inside and out) and in these recessionary times a great place to pick up a bargain.
I liked this sweet shop, where you can buy (amongst many other things) Chesterfield mints!
