Wrexham - Lewis's Farm Shop

I've known the Lewis family for over 20 years, they've always been good farmers and so I was delighted to hear that they now also have a farm shop.
It's what I call a proper farm shop, it's got its own on-site butchery producing the farm's own beef and lamb, alongside locally produced pork and free-range chickens and eggs.
They've won the Wrexham Sausage Championships in 209 and 2010. Flavours include Welsh dragon, pork and apple, tomato sausage and pork and Plassey ale sausage (made with beer from the Plassey brewery just down the road).
As much as possible is home-made, the cooked beef, ham, pork and turkey is all home roasted, and the scotch eggs and pork pies are home-made.
They've also won awards for their pies and cakes.  The shop is almost adjacent to the Plassey Craft Centre and caravan park, and not far from the pretty village of Overton-on-Dee (the yews in Overton churchyard are one of the Seven Wonders of Wales) and the National Trust's fabulous Erddig Estate. Whilst you're in the area you could also visit the first ever Wrexham Food Festival which is on today and tomorrow.
