Longnor - Cobbles Deli

There's two villages called Longnor (the other one is in in Shropshire).  This Longnor is a lovely market town 6 miles south of Buxton.  I first thought it was in Derbyshire, but it's actually just over the border in Staffordshire.  It's a nice place to go walking, I shall return to climb Chrome Hill!

Cobbles Deli is in one corner of the market place, and it's obvious how it got the name:
It's run by Gary and Jackie Bills.  Gary is a keen cyclist, and provided refreshments to riders when the Tour of Britain cycle race passed through Longnor.

The shops aims to sell as much local food as possible.  Bread comes from a bakery in Buxton, meat comes from a butcher 6 miles away in Butterton, there's smoked food from the Derbyshire Smokery (which is 5 miles away in Flagg), their ice-cream is from Hilly Billy Ice-Cream (9 miles away near Wildboarclough), biscuits come from Sarah Gayton's Taste of the Moorlands, (just 4 miles away in Warslow).
If you really like ginger in your biscuits, try Sarah's Very Hot Ginger Biscuits.  Also try her Oatty Biscuits which won a Gold Award in the Great Taste Awards last year.

Upstairs in the Cobbles Deli there's cards and gifts:

Thats a coincedence, we ran from Monyash which is down the road from Longnor on Tuesday evening. We walked though Lathkindale which is a beutifull spot for walking. We visited the chipshop in Longnor on the way back home, which is well recommended they make excellent chips.
