Denstone Hall Farm Shop and Café

Rupert and Emma Evans's Denstone Hall farm shop and café is situated half way between Uttoxeter and Ashbourne, not far from the A50 and also Alton Towers.  Denstone Hall farm has been in Emma's family for four generations.  The attractive shop is housed in an old barn, where the milking parlour used to be.
Both Rupert and Emma have a background in marketing and it shows.  They're keen on sourcing top quality ingredients from local producers.  Fresh bread is delivered daily from Spencers of Ashbourne.  There's local milk and yoghurt, and a good selection of cheeses including local cheeses from the Staffordshire Cheese Company at Cheddleton and Bertelin Farmhouse Cheese near Eccleshall.
There's fresh fruit and veg delivered daily, I got there just before closing and the displays still looked good:
They've got their own butcher and sell beef from their own farm, local lamb and outdoor reared pork from Packington pork.  When I called they had Irish Moiled beef (a very rare breed recently featured on Countryfile) from Chris Ball at Prestwood.
Next time I call I shall make a point of arriving earlier when the café is still open.  They've won Best Tea Room in Staffordshire for the last three years, and they only first opened in 2007!
