Atari Ya sells Japanese food and, if the number of Japanese people in the shop is anything to go by, are very good at what they do. There's four Atari Ya shops in London, I visited the branch in West Acton - just around the corner from the tube station. They sell Japanese fruit and vegetables like gobō and daikon

but it's the fish

It's quite fascinating watching the sashimi and sushi being prepared.
They also sell thinly sliced meat for Sukiyaki or Shabu-Shabu, and items like wasabi, pickled ginger, rice and noodles. The staff are friendly and helpful, there was even a poster for people not familiar with Japanese food to help them. Atari Ya
