Every now and then I find an artisan food producer who's extra special, and I'm definitely putting Fiona Sciolti and her Botanical Chocolates in that category! The cream comes from a neighbour's herd of contented Jersey, Guernsey and Friesian cows, the borage honey is made by bees a mile from her home, in fact as much as possible is done by Fiona herself.
Her sophisticated flavours include green tea and cherry (not any old tea, but second flush Sencha green tea), dark raspberry and pink peppercorn, lavender and vanilla blossom honey, strawberry and balsamic vinegar and simply blueberry.
As I met her in Wakefield, in the Deliciously Yorkshire market, it was not surprising that there was also rhubarb and custard crumble:
