Wakefield - H Hofmann and Sons Ltd

H Hofmann and Sons Ltd have been trading in Wakefield since 1896.  They've got several branches, I visited the one on Silver Street.   Their outdoor bred pork comes from Anna’s Happy Trotters near Howden, other meats come from local farms including their own at Sharlston.
I didn't expect to see curd tart and parkin in a butcher's window, but they're also bakers.  I love the way how bread has different names in different areas - like baps, barm cakes and oven bottom rolls.  Here you can buy a brown scuffler!  
And this being Wakefield, they've introduced rhubarb to their pies and sausages!
