Cleobury Country Food and Ale Trail 2011

Yesterday we took part in the 4th Cleobury Country Food and Ale Trail.  It's my idea of heaven, you walk through pleasant countryside
and every 2 miles there's a stop for local food and drink.  First stop was for coffee and one of Ashley's cakes:
then past ducks
and sheep
to another stop where we had a prawn and smoked salmon starter
provided by Silver Service, washed down with a glass of Hobson's Twisted Spire.

Then onwards
towards our lunch stop
where Le Potager: provided chicken (or a vegetarian) tagine
with Hobson's mild and musical entertainment.

Then it was back to Kinlet church
where Halfbaked provided a fine choice of cupcakes:
Having walked 8 miles I felt I'd deserved a chocolate ganache cupcake to go with my tea:
It must be a phenomenal amount of work for the organisers (there's toilets at every stop and signs and marshals to stop you getting lost).  It's a great advert for local food and a lovely part of South Shropshire, so I do hope they have another one in two years time.

The exact trail we did is here, but some of the walk was on permissive paths for that day only.  However there are alternative rights of way nearby.

Thanks for the great write up! I was at the final food stop and there was lots of positive feedback! It is a huge commitment from the organisers so it is wonderful for them to receive such fulsome praise!
