Spitalfields - A. Gold

Situated just by Spitalfields Market, in a lovely Grade II-listed building, A. Gold sells traditional homemade and speciality foods that are regularly featured in this blog.

It's around Britain on a plate!  You can sit down and have a sandwich and cake with tea or coffee.  Food to take away includes items like pickled or Scotch eggs, Botham's plum bread from Whitby, Eccles cakes or Tan Y Castell Welsh cakes, and Mrs Darlington's lemon curd from Crewe and Battersea Honey by Urban Bees.
To wash it all down there's Fentiman's ginger beer, Williamson's tea or Resolution Tea from Botham's and Monmouth Coffee.  They also sell Truman's Runner Ale, with its origins not far away in Brick Lane.

You can take home good old-fashioned traditional sweets, like cherry lips and pear drops and the legendary Uncle Joe's mintballs from Wigan (I must visit there soon).  They also sell also fudge (as consumed by Prince Charles) from the Toffee Shop in Penrith.
