Exeter - Pipers Farm

This blog always approves of shops which let you try before you buy!

Earlier in this blog I said that I'd struggled to find good food shops in Exeter.  Well that was before I'd discovered Magdalen Road!  There's a great deli, fishmonger, greengrocer, wine shop and Pipers Farm all in close proximity:

Pipers Farm is listed in the Telegraph's Britain's best delis, markets and farm shops, the Independent's 50 best farm shops, it's won a BBC Best Food Producer award and customers include Michael Caines!

They have their own farm at Cullompton, 10 miles away, and here animal welfare is paramount.  The meat is top quality and attractively displayed:

They also do ready meals, their Ragu Bolognese was an award winner in this year's Great Taste Awards.
