High Lane - Ricky the Butcher

I've met Ricky the butcher quite a few times over the years, at quite a few different Farmers Markets.  I was on a walking holiday at Lyme Park last year and realised the shop was only a mile away from the entrance to Lyme Park, so decided to pay him a visit.

He's quite a character (I've never seen him out of that hat), so I wasn't surprised to see a massive mural on the outside of the shop:
They've always had a good reputation for their beef:
and they're also famous for their sausages.  These are hand made on the farm with natural skins, with pork, beef, lamb and venison varieties.  They also do things you can't always get elsewhere, like Boerewors (South African sausages):
and even more unusual  items like these Zulu Eggs (hand cut lamb, beef and pork, whole roasted garlic and chili with a centre of cheese):

Hi. I am Bex Ricky's daughter. The surname is Hunt and sadly the farm shop has closed a few years ago now so mum and dad are now retired and enjoying life away from the hard working life of Lomber hey farm. We still live there but the farm shop and yard are now units, we have doggie day care, dog fertility clinic, groomer, landscaper, to mention a few.

Have a healthy happy 2022
