Lincoln - Elite Meats

One of the first foods I think of that's associated with Lincolnshire is Lincolnshire sausages, and I was told that Kenny Roberts of Elite Meats in Lincoln makes some of the best:
Kenny is a great character, he started work in the shop as a delivery boy when he was 14, then became a manager, and has actually owned the shop for the last 22 years.

His Lincolnshire pork sausage mix is one of the ingredients in these rather fine stuffed mushrooms:
The shop sells Lincoln Red beef from a farmer in Lincoln, their lamb comes from Neaves at Welton and Scaemans at Ingham and their pork comes from Schofields at Owensby and the Ashcrofts at Langworth.
It's a great place for buying local foods like Lincolnshire pork pies, Lincolnshire haslet, Lincolnshire faggots and Lincolnshire stuffed chine:
By contrast they also sell exotic meats (anything from crocodile to water buffalo), which are naturally reared in game reserves and culled humanely.

They also duck eggs, quail eggs and even ostrich eggs, and I nearly forgot, chicken eggs.  They also have local cakes, fruit pies, and Lincolnshire plum breads from Welbournes Bakery (see last post) and Modens.
