East Riding Country Pork

I had a very pleasant holiday at Spurn Point earlier this year (admiring baby avocets here and reading Larkin).  The owner of the guest house where we stayed used to be a pig farmer, and I asked if he could recommend any good local food shops.  He suggested we visit East Riding Country Pork:
In this part of Yorkshire there's a lot of cereals grown.  East Riding Country Pork grow their own grain, which is then fed to their pigs (who then help to fertilise the cereals).  The pigs go to a local abattoir, just 3 miles away (which I believe help animal welfare and cuts out food miles).

The shop sells their own dry cured bacon, and over 15 different varieties of sausage.  They also sell Belgian blue beef (which is hung for a minimum of 28 days), lamb and poultry, all from local farms.  They also sell game (when in season).
East Riding Country Pork were Highly Commended in the Best Fresh Local Product category at East Yorkshire Local Food Network’s Awards Ceremony this year.

The shop also sells Gold from the Wold rapeseed oil, Boothams cakes (from Whitby), Mr Moos ice-cream from Skipsea and a Farmer's Daughter cards.
