Belfast - Sawers

There's a saying in Belfast "If you can't get it in Sawers, you can't get it anywhere"! If ever you're in this great city you must visit Sawers! It's a very short walk from the wonderful and helpful Visit Belfast Welcome Centre in Donegall Square, but because it's a bit hidden away many tourists miss this remarkable shop:
Inside, it's often described as an Aladdin’s Cave! They sell gourmet cuisine from around the globe.
They've been trading since 1897, and supplied game, poultry, seafood, cheese and other fine foods for the R.M.S Titanic Drawing offices, for functions and special royal visits. They've got a particularly attractive fish counter:
Where you can buy anchovies:

oysters and mussels:
and local delicacies like Ardglass Potted Herring:
and Lough Neagh smoked eel:
There's also a cheese counter:
selling cheese from across the British Isles:
 and Continental cheeses:
I can recommend the salads and sandwiches
which are made to order, and quite reasonable, but I'll warn you that you're bound to buy at least one jar of something that you didn't even realise you needed on the way out!
