Berlin - KaDeWe

The Kaufhaus des Westens (which in English means "Department Store of the West") is usually abbreviated to KaDeWe. Thye've traded since 1907 and are the largest department store in Continental Europe.
Lovers of good food are well catered for with the 6th and 7th floors entirely devoted to food! There's a stylish butchers shop:
where you can buy joints:
sausages:
poultry from Loué:
and fine hams:
which you can eat there, or take home.
There's also a fish counter, where these lobsters caught my eye:

I love how attractively everything is displayed:
There's a stunning display of vegetables:
and these peppers look good:
There's a cheese counter:
where I was pleased to see Keen's Cheddar, Montgomery's Cheddar, Long Clawson Stilton, Blue Shropshire, Wensleydale, and other English cheeses:
There's a large bakery section:
where you can buy these attractive petits fours:
I liked these marzipan strawberries
There's more than one shop selling chocolates:
I visited Leysieffer:
and got some great gifts.

It's also a great place to have a meal, and if your family can't agree on what style of food to go for there's pretty well all sorts here (there's over 30 counters).
I was spoilt for choice in the salad section:
you add as much as you like of the different items
and they weigh your plate!
There's also plenty of choices for something to wash it down!
If you've got a sweet tooth, there's also fine patisserie:
KaDeWe is an amazing place to visit. It's not cheap, but everything is top quality.
