Ambleside - StockGhyll Fine Food

I was delighted to find this fairly new deli in Ambleside, whilst on a walking holiday earlier this year. They specialise in local foods and traditional deli produce.

In the fridge there's local butter and bacon and cheeses like Blue Whinnow cheese, made by Thornby Moor Dairy, made with unpasteurised Dairy Shorthorn cow's milk
There's also home-made Scotch eggs, quiche and pies and a selection of olives:
They sell Focaccia from More Artisan bakery:
Lovers of home-mades cakes are well catered for! My friends enjoyed their cherry bakewell, pear & almond tart and vanilla slices:
There's also home-made Westmorland gingerbread and chocolate brownies, as well as parkin and fruit cake from Botham's of Whitby.
In case you are wondering, the shop gets its name from a local waterfall:
It's a pleasant walk - just what you need to build up an appetite!
