London - Kalinka

Whilst we, in the UK, have embraced the different cuisines of many continents, very few people in this country get to eat much Russian food - which I think is sad.

So I was delighted to find at the end of Felicity Cloake's Food Walk around Notting Hill Kalinka

It's  a shop specialising in food from Russia, and Eastern Europe.
It's a very short walk from Queensway tube station. It's also handy for the Embassy of the Russian Federation, so homesick Russians can call there for their favourite foods.
They sell salted fish, smoked fish and meat,
as well as different sausages and pates.
You can buy different cheeses including curd cheese and fermented milk drinks like kefir and ryazhenka.

There are also frozen items, like Pelmeni (dumplings with a variety of fillings).

If you want something to drink, there are some interesting juices, Russian beers and if you fancy something stronger, there's even Red Army vodka!
