Crombies of Edinburgh

Crombies of Edinburgh have been trading since 1955 and aim to source the best of Scottish meats.  Much of their Scotch beef, lamb and pork is procured directly from selected farms. They sell free range pork and chicken and their venison is taken wild Scottish red deer.
Their meat is traditionally matured (hung), with their steak cuts given up to 4 weeks for better flavour and tenderness.

Their product ranges include many award winning products. They make steak pies, dry-cured bacon, haggis, and black pudding.

They also sell many kitchen-ready products:
as well as pastries, salads, quiches, cooked ham, beef and pork, along with selected cheeses, bakery and dairy goods. etc.

They have a very good name for their sausages and sell over 40 varieties:
Their varieties include curry wurst, pork and Edinburgh ale, spicy mango and ginger, or venison redcurrant and basil. Another customer told me their favourite was piggy black - a rich pork and black pudding sausage with apple and herbs.

If you like hot sausages, how about Lucifer's matchsticks:
a long and lean, fiery steak sausage with crushed chillies & mustard.

Their Gluten Free sausages won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal  at the first Gluten Free Competition held by Scottish Craft Butchers earlier this year.

If you don't live near Edinburgh, the shop also does online mail order.
