Granthams of Alderley Edge.

One of the first places I ever mentioned in this blog, way back in 2008 was Granthams of Alderley Edge.  It's still one of my favourite shops, it's a bit hard to find, but well worth the effort.  The shop was founded by Percy Grantham in 1947, and it's still very much a family business.

The shop specialises in Italian foods like this Aracini.
You may also be lucky and find they are selling their own home made pasta.

They sell fresh fruit and vegetables. It's a very good place for charcuterie. They sell on average 33,000 slices of their own cooked ham a year, which is still cooked to Percy Grantham's recipe

It's a good place for cheese, they sell over 150 different English and continental cheeses, mainly sourced from small artisan producers.
They sell organic foods, like wild organic smoked salmon, and local free range chickens.

There's bread from Cheshire Smokehouse:
Twice a year, just before Christmas and just before Easter, they take over the New Festival in Alderley Edge where they have a wonderful meet the producer event, where you can try and buy delicious food and drink that you can't easily find elsewhere.
I always try and get to this, it's my idea of heaven!
