La Maison du Chocolat

La Maison du Chocolat is an exclusive chocolate shop situated on Piccadilly.  Robert Linxe is from the Basque region and went to to Switzerland to perfect his skills.  His first Maison du Chocolat was on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore in Paris, now there are shops in New York, Tokyo and London.  Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to photograph inside the shop, so sorry about the reflections from the window:In the picture are chocolate and caramel éclairs, chocolate tartelettes, galette de bois, marroni tarts (sugar crust pastry filled with bitter ganache topped with chestnut square and decorated by marron glacés), salvadors (smooth biscuit covered with raspberry pulp and truffle mousse), chocolate and vanilla logs and macaroons.

I made a small purchase, but with éclairs costing £3.90 each and 6 macaroon costing £8.31, I'll have to wait until I get a pay rise or two before I can give a full review!

I love the chocolate boutiques in London, La Maison du Chocolat is one of my favourites. I go there for dessert after lunch or an early dinner at one of the similarly amazing restaurants in Piccadilly. I would love it if you were able to sit waith a coffee or tea in the store and devour the delights right there and then.
